26 new COVID cases detected in Tamulpur

BAKSA: Despite the surge in COVID cases in Tamulpur subdivision, people can still be seen violating COVID protocol. On Tuesday, people were seen crowding in banks, shops and even on the road in Tamulpur subdivision. Some people gathered in front of the UCO Bank, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank in Tamulpur subdivision, in clothes shops and market places without wearing masks or maintaining social distancing.

Total 26 people, including 15 in Tamulpur, 4 in Kumarikata and 7 in Nagrijuli, tested positive on Tuesday. On the other hand, on Tuesday, 52 people tested positive in the entire Baksa district and there were a total number of 421 active cases in the district till the time of filing this report. Eight people have died of COVID in the district so far.
