BARPETA: It was a dream come true for 18 poor but brilliant students who were taken to visit Guwahati and interact with eminent personalities as part of their educational trip. These students were selected through screening test and personal interview across the area of responsibility of Border Out Posts of 27 Bn SSB, near Barpeta Road falling under Baksa district.
A group of 18 students, including 15 girls were concentrated on March 8 at 27 Bn headquarters at Guwagacha. On Wednesday, the team led by Abhishek Anand, Commandant, accompanied by Dr. Lalit Deori, arrived at Guwahati for the subsequent programmes. When the rural belt students boarded the Brahmaputra river cruise Alfresco, their happiness knew no bounds. Later, Biswajit Daimary, Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, interacted with the aspiring students.
