DOOMDOOMA: The 27th National Children Science Congress (NCSC), Tinsukia district will be held for the first time at Chapakhowa, the headquarter town of Sadiya Sub-division, on September 6 and September 7, said Diganta Bhajani, District Co-ordinator, NCSC.
This year’s theme of the NCSC is ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for Clean, Green and Healthy nation’. This conference is held every year among school students of the age group 10-17 years in order to develop their scientific temperament and creativity by arousing their curiosity.
In the 26th national level NCSC held in Orissa last year, a student from Kakapather named Bibhash Gogoi brought laurels to the district by participating in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) as a child scientist. Already zonal-level academic workshops at Margherita, Doomdooma, Tinsukia and Chapakhowa have been held under the auspices of the District-level Organizing Committee in the month of June.
Like previous years, this year also students belonging to Class VI to Class XI of government, non-government and private schools will be able to present minimum of two projects at the district-Level NCSC. The projects prepared under the guidance of teacher-in-charge will have to be deposited to the zonal coordinator or directly to the District Co-ordinator before September 2.
For this, already a strong reception committee has been formed with SDO (Civil), Sadiya Subdivision Biswajit Phukan as president, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Sadiya subdivision Punyeswar Phukan as working president and Principal of Sadiya HS School, Jatin Gogoi as general secretary.
