* Fleeing patient caught by police

LAKHIMPUR: Almost community transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic has engulfed at some places in Lakhimpur district. As a result, patients positive for COVID-19 have been detected at some randomly selected areas while conducting Rapid Antigen Test in the district during the past three days.
A total of 28 COVID-19 patients were detected in the district on Saturday till the time of filing this report. Of them, 19 patients were detected while conducting the Rapid Antigen Test. They have been identified as Bumoni Borah (26), Puja Saikia (20), Anita Ghosh (49), Raju Dutta (39), Upen Baruah (45), Bharat Neog (40), Harikanta Borah (50), Supriya Kundu (37), Kishor Das (31), Rekharani Biswas (45), Munna Rai (19), Ranjan Das (30), Kusum Das (21), Ashim Dutta (52), Chittaranjan Biswas (36), Amal Devnath (29), Gopal Nath (48), Sukto Pal (30) and Arjun Das (45). The District Health Department conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on Saturday at the randomly selected places under Harmoti area and Dhakuakhana subdivision
On the other hand, 9 patients were found positive as per 'real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test' result which was reported from Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh. They have been identified as Diganta Deka (36), Gopal Dhan (50), Monu Dutta (36), Gunin Natey (8), Jatin Bailung (25), Prabin Buragohain (27),
Parashmoni Das (47), Hira Singh (35) and Dipak Chetri (27).
The North Lakhimpur Police detained Aminul Sheikh (43) who ran away on Thursday after he had been detected positive for COVID-19 through RAT. Police caught him at his own residence while he came back from his hiding place. He was admitted in Boginadi Dedicated COVID-19 Health Center. He is a vegetable vendor at the North Lakhimpur Daily Market and resident of Khelmati. The Health Department had lodged an FIR against him at North Lakhimpur Police Station after he had run away.
