Dibrugarh: On the basis of secret information, Dibrugarh Police in association with Changlang Police and 171 Battalion of CRPF mounted a Naka at Jemson Tiniali under Lahoal PS and about 9.45 am and intercepted the alleged vehicle carrying arms and ammunition i.e. a white Bolero bearing no AS-23N-0I73.
The security forces had arrested three persons (including two women) during the naka checking operation, identified as Badrul Alom (48) son of Lt Abdul Kayum,Education Colony, PS Jeyrampur, Mrs Akuyu Yobin (48) wife of Phuyedwe Yobin,Gandhigram, PS Vijoynagar and Mrs Sayunu Yobin (36) wife of Tiyodi Yobin, Gandhigram, PS Vijoy Nagar.
On searching the vehicle, the following items were recovered from their possession:

3)Magazine Pouch-4 Nos
4) Rifle Sling-15 Nos
5)Khukri -1
6)Pull Out Vacuum Apparatus Kit-1

8) Army Uniforms
As per sources, they were arrested from the Mohanbari bypass in Lahowal area. The trio was coming from Dimapur and proceeding to Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh by the Bolero.
One of the arrested is an ex-serviceman of Assam Rifles. The top brass of the police is grilling the accused to identify the trail of the seized arms.
Further interrogation and follow up action is going on.
