3 die of COVID in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Three persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Saturday. They have been identified as Bhuban Ch Medhi (82) of Borpatgaon, Ghoramari, Sabita Sarma (70) and Rajib Kalita (60) of Tezpur town who died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 34 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic. On Saturday, 305 new fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district during the second wave to 1,638. The total number of COVID deaths in the district has increased to 54 since May of the last year till today.
