3 die of COVID in Sonitpur district, 98 new cases detected

TEZPUR: Three persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Sunday. They have been identified as Rekha Thapa (38) of Dolabari, Subhash Karmakar (30) of Parua and Hiteshwar Kakati of Tezpur who died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH), taking the death toll to 37 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

ON Sunday, 98 new fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district during the second wave is 1575. The total number of COVID deaths in the district has increased to 57 since May of the last year till today.
