3 more COVID-19 patients dead in Assam, death toll rises to 43

Assam has recently witnessed a spike in the number of Covid-related deaths in this week. 

It has been reported that the COVID-19 death toll in Assam has risen to 43 after 3 succumed to the infection on Sunday, July 12.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his condolences in his tweet saying"Very sad to inform that 3 #COVID19 + patients - Smt Nilakshi Sing (40) of Guwahati; Mr Arjun Kumar AjitSaria (63) of Nagaon & Mrs Subhawati Devi Maurya (55) of Guwahati admitted in GMCH Covid ICU succumbed to their critical infections between 11.30 pm and 2 am."

Meanwhile, with the number of deaths due to COVID-19 rising at a steady and alarming pace, the state health department has geared up its testing facilities and the inclusion of new health infrastructure as a part of its immediate agenda.
