3 ULFA (I) cadres apprehended by security forces in Namrup, Arms seized

Namrup: Based on a tip-off, the Army 244 field regiment apprehended 3 ULFA (I) cadres at Namrup Sonari Tiniali under Dibrugarh District on December 27, 2019.

The arrested ULFA (I) cadres were identified as Rantu Sonowal alias Maina(25) S/O Tulsi Sonowal resident of Rohmari gaon (Khowang ps, Dibrugarh dist), Vidyut Chiringia alias Maina (19) S/O Hemanta Chiringia resident of Kawoijan (ps Naharkatiya, Dibrugarh District), Jishu Borah(27) S/O Lt Jatin Bora resident of Hauraghat Beloguri ( Karbi Anglong dist).

Army 244 field regiment also recovered one .22 pistol, 2 nos live ammunition, 1 magazine, 2 nos ULFA flag and 3 nos mobile phone from their possession.

Army handed over them at Namrup PS with FIR on December 29, 2019.

A case has been registered to vide Namrup Police Station Case/No 159/2019 under section 120(B)/121/122/384/387 IPC R/W Sec 25(I)(A) Arms Act, R/W Sec 10/13 UA (P) Act.

Further interrogation is on.
