West Karbi Anglong: In a mass joining program held on Saturday (December 19) at Jaluk-Langteng playground in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam as many as 30 members from the Opposition — Lang-Ang village - Congress 4 members, Jaluk-Langteng village — Congress 21 members and ASDC 5 members joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The program was organized by BJP's Chinthong Mandal Committee under Lang-Ang and Langteng village local Committee where the 30 members join the BJP party in presence of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council executive member and in-charge of PHE department Prodip Rongpi, Chinthong BJP Mandal Committee president Joysing Bongrum, Chinthong BJP Mandal Committee General Secretary Sarsing Engti, Chinthong Village Development Chairman Khorsing Senar, Chinthong BJP Kisan Morcha president Robison Tisso, and other BJP party workers.

While addressing and welcoming the new members to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Prodip Rongpi said that in the BJP party there is no new and old but all are part of the same family and BJP will provide a new platform to all to express themselves freely and share their views with other co-workers.

Rongpi also distributed Arunodoi acknowledgment slips to the beneficiaries in the meet.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam on December 26.

According to a report, Assam BJP leader and MLA Numal Momin said Minister Shah will attend a few governments and party programs during his visit. He further stated that sitting Congress MLA Ajanta Neog, former cabinet minister and few other Congress MLAs and leaders are likely to join the saffron party.

"Few sitting Congress MLAs are likely to join the BJP on that day in presence of the Union home minister," Numal Momin said.
