300 cartons of liquor seized; 2 held in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Acting on a tip-off, Tezpur and Rangapara excise department intercepted and searched a truck bearing number AS 01LC 3281 coming from Arunachal Pradesh at Balipara area in the Sonitpur district and recovered 300 cartons of Arunachali liquor worth Rs 25 lakh. The liquor was smuggled inside the truck covered with bricks. In this connection, two persons have been arrested. The apprehended persons have been identified as Byacha Singh of Imphal and Vicky Singh of Theibal district in Manipur, official sources said.
