BISWANATH CHARIALI: The 30th Battalion of CRPF organized a civic action programme at North Eastern Regional Multipurpose School and Handicapped Training Centre, Balipukari in Biswanath district on Friday. The 30th Battalion CRPF with headquarters in Sonitpur district and having jurisdiction in Sonitpur, Biswanath, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts has been performing both operational and law and order duties.
Under the programme, Arun Kumar Meena, Commandant, 30th Battalion, CRPF and Hiranya Saikia, In-charge of the Center inaugurated the installation of two numbers of solar street lights in the presence of Daniel L Hmar, Deputy Commandant.
Daniel L Hmar spoke in length about the commitment of CRPF and the 30th Battalion, in particular, to offer a helping hand to the local people in all aspects of the social sector. He informed that the programme was held under the able guidance of Birendra Kumar Sharma, Inspector General, Ops Jorhat Sector and Anil Bisht, DIG, Khatkhati Range, CRPF.
He also briefed about the ongoing civic action programmes during 2023-24 in which they organized free medical camps in North Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts, installed two toilet blocks at Chariduar Government Primary School and two solar street lights at Mercy Children Orphanage Home, Murikuti village, Chariduar. Besides, the battalion, living by its motto “Utkrishta Hamara Sankalp”, will shortly establish a library with indigenous books at Neville High Secondary School, Chariduar and also organize a mega football tournament for aspiring sports players to help needy villagers of Assam.
