320 Meritorious students felicitated in Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: A total of 320 meritorious students who performed well in the 2020 HSLC and HS examination from greater Jamugurihat area were felicitated in a joint meeting organized by All Jamuguri Students' Union and Jamuguri Development Committee (JDC) at Bapuji Bhawan, Jamugurihat on Thursday.

Addressing the meritorious students as chief guest, Dr. AjitHazarika, Principal of Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, appealed to the students to read books. He said, "Real education can be gained by reading books only. Google may give information to students but cannot give education."

Bipul Bora, subject teacher of Dekorai HSS, gave the welcome address while AbhijitNath, president of Sonitpur district AASU, chaired the meeting. In the morning, the flags of AASU and JDC were unfurled by DhurjatGoswami, president of All Jamuguri Students' Union, and Indra Prasad Nath, which was followed by swahidtarpan. Floral tribute was paid to SudhakantaDrBhupenHazarika by LakhyajyotiKalita, sports secretary of Sonitpur AASU.
