Tezpur: With the foundation stones being laid for construction of houses in Tezpur town under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, a total of 486 beneficiaries will get their own houses in the town soon. The foundation stone for the construction of houses was ceremonially laid by Pushpa Deka, chairperson of Tezpur Municipal Board at ward number 2, Lalmati Hazarika Chuk on Monday in the presence of local MLA Brindaban Goswami, Paritosh Dey, chairman of TDA, Bibul Das, ward commissioner and others of the Assam government.
While speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, Pushpa Deka said, “A total of 322 beneficiaries have been selected for the first phase of construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Tezpur town and a total of 486 beneficiaries will get their own houses in Tezpur town under the scheme.” Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Housing for All (Urban) Mission was launched in June 2015.
