3,500 litres of illicit liquor seized in Sarupathar

SARUPATHAR: Acting on tip-off, Trinayan Bhuyan, Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) and the officer-in-charge of Barpathar police station, including the team of Barpathar police and VDP volunteers, jointly conducted a raid at Tengani, Rajgarh in Khatkhati area under Dhansiri subdivision and seized about 3,500 litres of fermented illicit liquor from the spot. According to report, the 3,500 litres of illicit and fermented liquor, seized gur and other raw materials that goes into the preparation of illicit liquor were destroyed on the spot. The excise department has conducted multiple raids and operations that have resulted in the seizure of thousands of litres of illegal liquor and raw materials.
