4 die of COVID in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Four persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Wednesday.

They have been identified as Sandhya Rani Devi (75), resident of Missamari, Santi Biswakarma (60), resident of Dulapadung TE, Rangapara, Mani Saikia (54), resident of Tezpur town, and Paramananda Bordoloi (79), resident of Kamarchuburi, Tezpur died at a TMCH, taking the death toll to 52 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 3,141 tests were done across the district on Wednesday out of which 2,755 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the fresh 221 positive cases found, 209 cases were from RAT and 12 from RT-PCR.
