COVID-19 Claims 4 Lives in Assam's Sonitpur District with 316 New Cases

TEZPUR: Four persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Monday. They have been identified as Asha Devi (66), resident of Ushanagar Tezpur, Diliram Sharma (70), resident of Balijuri, Jamugurihat, Hazar Ali (62), resident of Samdhara, Tezpur and Ponaram Nath (63), resident of Jahamari, Thelamara who died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 71 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 5,984 tests were done across the district on Monday out of which 5,441 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the new 316 cases found, 295 cases were from RAT and 21 from RT-PCR.
