5 gaon panchayat employees suspended on corruption charges in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Five contractual employees of various gaon panchayats of Dibrugarh district have put under suspension on charges of corruption in distribution of wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee implemented under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

The suspended employees are Ranu Chetri, computer assistant of Merbeel, Dhigalia and Borbam Gaon Panchayats under Joypore Development Block (JDB); Dipika Gogoi, Dadumia Gaon Panchayat of JDB; Minaxi Buragohain, Rangchangi Gaon Panchayat under Panitola Development Block; Prafulla Chetia and Anil Baruah, account assistants of Balijan Gaon Panchayat under Panitola Development Block.

Rural Development Commissioner Hemen Das, based on departmental enquiry report, by an order, suspended all five corrupt employees with effect from May 15.
