5 more die of COVID in Sonitpur District

TEZPUR: Five persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur District on Sunday. They have been identified as Roma Das (55), resident of Balijan Bengali, Dhekiajuli; Bulu Sut (67), resident of Kamarchuburi, Pithakhowa; Rupnath Sonowal (73), resident of Aholagaon, Chariduar; Pratima Das (64), resident of Parua, Tezpur; and Jainal Abedin (70), resident of Joynagar, Dhekiajuli.

All five died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 179 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 3,382 tests were done across the district on Sunday out of which 3,136 were RAT and the rest was RT-PCR.
