DHUBRI: Five B.Ed students secured positions from Dhubri PGTT College, including first three positions, result of which declared was couple of days ago. All the five position holders were felicitated by the college at a function held in its auditorium followed by media briefing on Monday.

While addressing the media persons, president of Governing body of Dhubri PGTT College, Dr. Debamoy Sanyal said this was perhaps for the first time that five students of B.Ed secured five positions under Gauhati University and all are girls.

“Anusmita Paul secured first position followed by Nehar Sultana 2nd, Bidisha Debnath 3rd, Kainath Ahmed 8th and Ankita Dey 9th. We are very proud for the outstanding result which was possible only due to their hard work and dedicated teaching staff of the college. We wish them a successful career in their life,” Dr. Sanyal added.

Addressing the media persons, principal of Dhubri PGTT College, Dr Atowar Rahman while conveying heartiest congratulations to all the five position holders, said the result of the college had started improving since the academic year 2018-19 when 97 candidates appeared for the B.Ed final examination and all secured first class with 8th and 10th position.

“In 2019-20 academic year, 98 students appeared and all secured first class with 5th position, in 2020-21, 97 appeared and again all secured first Class with 4th position. In the academic year 2021-22, 98 students appeared and all secured first class with five position. This results has encouraged us and we are overwhelmed with such result. So I appeal all students studying in B.Ed course to work hard to uphold the prestige of the college by coming out with flying colours in the years to come,” Dr. Rahman added. The college which came into being in 1991 had to struggle hard to achieve this reputation and position in the state under Gauhati University.
