53 COVID-19 cases detected in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID-19 and 53 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district on Friday. Out of the 53 fresh cases, 42 cases were detected from RAT and 12 from RT-PCR. The death toll in the district during the second wave of the pandemic now stands at 228. Altogether 5,909 tests were done across the district on Friday, out of which 5,582 were RAT and rest RT-PCR. Official sources said that COVID positive Kajol Pandit (76), resident of Napaam, Borghat under Tezpur PS died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.
