54th foundation day of Assam Agricultural University observed in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The 54th foundation day of the Assam Agricultural University (AAU) was observed in Lakhimpur district by Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), North Lakhimpur.

RARS Chief Scientist, Dr Prabal Kumar Saikia started the agenda of the event by unfurling the AAU flag at the station premises. It was followed by a public meeting which began with the title song of AAU. In the meeting, the Chief Scientist explained the significance of observing the foundation day while commemorating the glorious history of the AAU. He called upon all concerned to take pledge to dedicate themselves for more flourishing of the AAU.

Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lakhimpur, Dr. Prasanta Kumar Pathak also spoke on the occasion. In the same programme, Director of Srimanta Sankardev Yoga and Naturopathy Research Centre, Sanjib Borah delivered a lecture on 'Yoga practice as art of life' as invited guest. He also made some demonstrations of asanas and dhyan.
