PATHSALA: In a tragic incident, a 55 -year-old man succumbed to his injuries at his Sukuliapar residence on Wednesday morning. He was injured seriously in the bison attack at Bajali in Barpeta district.

The deceased has been identified as Tarani Kalita (55), a daily-wage earner of Sukilarpar in Bajali subdivision of Barpeta district. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

Some bisons came out from Manas National Park and attacked him suddenly. He received serious injuries in his chest and was admitted in GMCH in a critical condition. Due to financial problem he was discharged and returned back from GMCH on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning his health deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries. His body was sent to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital in Barpeta for post-mortem. Local people have demanded compensation for the family.
