59 COVID-19 cases detected in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID-19 and 59 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district on Thursday. The death toll in the district during the second wave of the pandemic now stands at 221. Altogether 8,317 tests were done across the district on Thursday, out of which 7,946 were RAT and rest RT-PCR.

Official sources said that COVID positive Girish Sarmah (82), resident of Borbhang, Salihamari in Sonitpur died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.
