6 Persons Die of COVID in Sonitpur District, 232 New Cases Reported

TEZPUR: Six persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Wednesday. They have been identified as Ashok Saha (55), resident of Nepalipatty, Tezpur, Rabindra Chandra Das (72), resident of Tezpur town, Sathilal Mondal (36), resident of Dulapadung, Thakurbari, Rangapara (died at Baptist Christian Hospital), Joimoti Dey (35), resident of Dibru Darrang TE, Dhekiajuli, Asoka Acharya (64), resident of Madhyapara, Tezpur and Dhanmoni Gowala (65), resident of Sarupatgaon, Chariduar, who died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 121 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 3,830 tests were done across the district on Wednesday out of which 3,319 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the new 232 positive cases found, 222 cases were from RAT and 10 from RT-PCR.
