JAGIROAD: Following election notification issued by the Election Commission of India on February 26, the Morigaon district administration has taken all necessary steps to conduct the election smoothly.

While addressing a press conference at the conference hall on Sunday, Deputy Commissioner Lina Das said that in the second phase, i.e, on April 1, a total of 6,14,261 voters will cast their vote in 902 polling stations in the district. The DC also said that in 79 Jagiroad LAC (reserved for SC) 2,37,457 voters will cast vote in 316 polling stations and 41 auxiliary polling stations, in 80 Morigaon LAC, 1,91,048 voters will cast vote in 256 polling stations and 29 auxiliary polling stations, and in 81 Lahorighat LAC, 1,83,756 voters will exercise vote in 240 polling stations and 20 auxiliary polling stations. The Deputy Commissioner called upon all concerned to extend cooperation. The press conference was also attended by ADC Ajit Kumar Sarma, Election Officer Dipmoy Thakuria and other officials.
