63rd birth anniversary of Upendra Nath Brahma by All Bodo Students’ Union

Gossaigaon: The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) celebrated the 63rd birth anniversary of the former president of the student body, Upendra Nath Brahma at Dotma under Kokrajhar district. The day is also celebrated as Students’ Day across the region.

ABSU leader Pramod Boro and UPPL leader Urkhao Gwra Brahma were present during the ceremony. Addressing the media, Promod Boro said, “We have been celebrating this day as Students’ Day and we have gathered at Dotma, Tulungapuri, at his memorial to remember him. We are celebrating his birth anniversary not just here but all over the State. We are again taking the pledge to build the Bodo society into a healthy one.” Upendra Nath Brahma, who is popularly known as ‘Bodofa’ (the father of all Bodos), is credited for having started the Bodoland Movement.
