RANGIA: The 64th Bn SSB started the fortnightly Swachhata Pakhwada action plan and implementation from Wednesday across the border area in order to inculcate the habits of cleanliness, hygiene and good health among people.
In connection with the programe Rajneesh Kumar Moral, Officiating Commandant, and Sandeep Poonia, Deputy Commandant, administered Swachhata (cleanliness) pledge to all troops at border area and unit headquarter respectively. Rajneesh Kumar Moral, Officiating Commandant, started the cleanliness drive by cleaning the village road of Amguri and said that apart from carrying out primary duty of guarding Indo-Bhutan border at Baksa district of Assam, SSB launched a massive cleanliness drive and was inspiring locals to keep the village and its surroundings clean. Furthermore, at Battalion Headquarters, Sandeep Poonia, Deputy Commandant and troops performed shramdaan from 6 am to 8 am and carried out cleanliness drive in the campus area of unit headquarters. He also briefed troops about the 15-day cleanliness plan wherein various activities are scheduled such as road march to create awareness among the public.
