BAKSA: The 64th Bn SSB Barama Camp at Howly organized a mega plantation drive at the Sericulture Farm and Veterinary Hospital in Barpeta as well as its Headquarter and the AOR of Border outpost.
During this mega plantation drive, total 2,500 saplings were planted. Under the guidance of Nand Kishore Tamta, Commandant 64 BN SSB, total 550 saplings were planted at the picnic spot near Kala Nadi in Daranga along the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa. Tamta said, "As a border guarding force, apart from primary task we are also doing environment protection by planting saplings." Tamta further said that 64 Bn had decided to plant approximately 15,500 saplings during this rainy season. In this plantation programme, family members of SSB troops as well as local villagers also participated.
