TINSUKIA: The 65th foundation day of Tinsukia College was observed with day-long programme adhering to COVID protocol on Wednesday amid presence of retired teachers and staff, faculty members and students. The programme began with hoisting of college flag by Dr Surjya Chutia, Principal of the college, followed by inauguration of First Aid and Sick Room by Santanu Bora, former head of the Commerce Department.
The open session was chaired by Prof Dileep Kalita, president of the college governing body. Manash Pratim Dutta, chief engineer of Coal India Limited (North Eastern Coalfields), Margherita as guest speaker dwelt at length on the prospects of employment opportunities in coal sector. He also urged the student community to accept the challenges prevailing under the COVID pandemic. The programme also witnessed presentation of certificates to five school students who excelled in online art competition held on the occasion of World Environment Day that was organized by the Environment & Climate cell of the college. The college also felicitated all the retired teachers and office staff present on the occasion.
