TINSUKIA: The 69th foundation day of 2nd AP Battalion was observed at Makum HQ with day-long events maintaining appropriate COVID behaviour on Sunday. The programme began with paying tribute to martyrs followed by plantation of 501 saplings. Dr Nanda Singh Borkala, the Commandant of the battalion, inspected the guard of honour and hoisted the ceremonial flag. Addressing the gathering, Dr Borkala recalled the contribution of the brave jawans of the battalion who sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace and law and order, since it was established in 1952. He also asked all battalion units stationed at Dhemaji, Sadiya, Dibrugarh and Jorhat to observe the day with sanctity in their places.
