6th annual convention of UBPO to be held from January 6, 2020, in Sonitpur

KOKRAJHAR: The 6th annual convention of the United Bodo People’s Organization (UBPO) will be held from January 6, 2020, at Kailajuli, Rangapara in Sonitpur district. This was informed by the general secretary of the organization, Anil Basumatary.

Basumatary said the convention with a three-day program would be attended by over 5,000 delegates from the State and representatives from West Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nepal, and Bangladesh. He also said the UBPO would discuss the much-awaited Boro Kachari Autonomous Council outside BTC districts and other important issues.

The general secretary of the organization said that minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had been invited as the chief guest of the open session while the chief of BTC, Hagrama Mohilary would inaugurate the open meeting.
