6th Bn. SSB seizes Bhutanese truck and timber worth Rs 50 lakh

KOKRAJHAR: The 6th Bn. SSB based on specific input on Thursday morning detected a Bhutanese truck bearing No. BP 3A/ 0009 loaded with 800 CFT of swan timber along with the driver of the truck. The special operation was carried by the D Coy Dadgiri. They seized the truck and timber besides apprehending the driver.

On asking to produce valid and legal documents of timber and vehicle, the driver of the vehicle failed to produce any documents of the items being transported. The special Naka team was laid by the command of Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Comdt. Along with party of SOs-01 and others-08, the operation was executed successfully. The SSB apprehended one Nripen Narzary (50 years) of Phulbari village of border area of Chirang district. They also seized one Bhutanese truck bearing number BP 3A/0009 loaded with swan timber worth value of Rs. 50,00000 approx. The seized items and the apprehended person have been handed over to Forest Range officer at Runikhata.
