7 die of COVID in Sonitpur district, 227 positive cases detected

TEZPUR: Seven persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Wednesday. They have been identified as Anil Deka (49), resident of 1 No. Jiagabharu, Missamari, Gangadhar Koch (83), resident of Barpatgaon, Ghoramari, Seema Sharma (42), resident of Harigaon Paruwa, Tezpur, Rinku Singh (31), resident of Tinimile, Tezpur, Ashma Khatun (30), resident of Rangagor, Dhekiajuli, Benu Singha Roy (60), resident of Dhekiajuli and Kulsuma Khatun (65), resident of Tengabasti, Panchmile, Tezpur died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 102 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic. Altogether 3,891 tests were done across the district on Wednesday out of which 3,429 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the new 227 positive cases found, 193 cases were from RAT and 34 from RT-PCR.
