71st Republic Day celebrated across Assam

Dibrugarh: The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated in Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) with great joy and enthusiasm. Managing Director (MD), BCPL Ashok Kumar Singh hoisted the tricolour at BCPL township amidst presence of officials, staffs, employees, their family members and CISF employees.

Singh, while addressing the gathering, appreciated the contribution of employees in different areas. He emphasized about the journey of BCPL which Singh claimed, is gradually emerging as a significant players in the petro-chemical sector in the north-eastern region as well as across the country.

A number of employees of BCPL were felicitated for outstanding contribution in their respective areas. A section of employees were also awarded on the occasion for their special achievements.

To mark the occasion, a friendly cricket match was played between the female employees of BCPL and spouses of employees wherein the female employees team emerged as winners. Earlier, Chief Operating Officer, BCPL, P. Nagesh hoisted the national flag at the administrative building while OICs at BCPL Gas Dehydration Unit at Duliajan and C 2+ Recovery unit at Lakhwa.

BILASIPARA: The 71st Republic Day was observed at Bilasipara with great pomp and grandeur admist huge crowd. In this connection Mridul Jadav, IAS. SDO(Civil), Bilasipara hoisted the National Flag in the INA Playground. Singing of National anthem, guard of honour, march past etc was held. The SDO (Civil) welcomed the crowd who has gathered in the field. A good number of persons having outstanding contribution in different field were felicitated by the civil administration. Hafiz Basir Ahmed, MLA, Bilasipara West LAC also attended the programme. Cultural function was also held in this connection. A friendly cricket match between SDO IX and DSA IX was also held in this connection.

GAURISAGAR: ONGC, Assam Asset reverberated with the enthusiastic rendition of the national anthem as Sanjeev Kakran, Executive Director and Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset unfurled the national tricolour amidst the warm applause of ONGCians, former ONGCians, distinguished guests and a large number of people from surrounding areas of Nazira, assembled on the occasion at ONGC Playground, Nazira.

Kakran inspected the parade and received the guard-of-honour, presented by the contingents of CISF, 25th Assam Police Battalion, ONGC Security, Fire Services, Home Guards, NCC, students of Kendriya Vidayalays and DPS, Nazira amid cheers and thunderous applause from spectators.

To mark the event, cultural programmes were also presented by the students of KV Nazira and Sivasagar, Gurukul, Adarsha Vidya Bhavan, Bortala Dance Academy, Bortala Higher Secondary School, KV Nazira and Sivasagar, DPS Nazira, L P School, Sivasagar followed by rendition of patriotic songs by ONGC Officers Mahila Samiti, Pubali Mahila Samiti and ONGC Workers Mahila Samiti. A skit by fire section, ONGC, Assam Asset and demo by CISF was also performed.
