DONGKAMUKAM: The 72nd Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s (KAAC) Foundation Day was observed on Friday at Dongkamukam DSA playground, West Karbi Anglong. KAAC CEM Dr Tuliram Ronghang attended the programme as chief guest.

He while speaking on the occasion recalled the past leaders who took pain for the formation of the Council in 1952 under sixth schedule.

“We will achieve our long-standing demand of Autonomous State if we work together irrespective of different political parties, NGOs, rich or poor etc. This is the 2nd time we are celebrating the prestigious day here in Dongkamukam. This celebration will be either held in Sarihajan or in Kohra next time,” he said. He finally appealed for peace here in the hills districts.

MP Horensing Bey lauded Dr Tuliram Ronghang for removing the bandh culture in Karbi Anglong.

Deputy Speaker ALA Dr Numal Momin in his speech said that the all round development was possible in the twin districts of Assam during these 9 years of BJP government. From medical colleges, schools infrastructures, etc a transformation has taken place, he said.

MLAs Rupsing Teron, Dhorsing Ronghang and Bidhyasing Engleng were also present. Numerous prestigious awards were also awarded to a number of persons working in different fields for their contribution in sports, education, environmental relativity, tourism, teachers, football, political, agriculturist etc.

Earlier, in the morning, KAAC chief Dr Tuliram Ronghang hoisted the flag followed by series of completed schemes’ inauguration.
