LAKHIMPUR: The flood caused by various rivers under Lakhimpur district due to incessant rain over a week has inundated a total of 78 villages under five Revenue Circles (RCs).

Out of them, 29 villages are reeling under flood in Bihpuria RC. They are Dharmapur Block, Ahmedpur Block, 68/65 No. Grant, Kutubpur, Fatehpur, Solmari 80 No. Grant, Kenduguri, Bodoti Miri, Bodoti Alimur, Gahori Ghat PGR, Kalawani Batumchuk, No. 2 Dahghoria, Bongali, No. 2 Aunibari, Bholukaguri, Dhunabari, Dhunabari Khanikar, No. 1 Aunibari, Pavamukh Vekeli, No. 1 Kaniajan, No. 2 Kaniajan, No. 2 Chenimora Kangkur, No. 2 Chenimora Kangkur, Bahgora Pothar, Bahgora Deori, No. 1 Dohghoria, Mornoi Gaon, Kalabil Mornoi Nepali and Garhmur.

On the other hand, a total of 24 villages like Banhpara, Chumpara, Kachugaon, Birajara, Dakhin Chapari, Dulia Gaon, Gharmora Gaon, Ghatapara Pathar, Goroimari Chapari, Janji Dangdhara, Jarani Chapori, Kala Kata Chetia, Kathalpara, Kukurajujha, Lechera Pothar, Mahdhowa, Moderguri Chapari, Mowkhowa, Namrupia Jalbhari, NC Abhaypur Naharani, NC Khajua Neali, NC Lecheramiri, No.1 Baghedhapalial, No.1 Gandhia, No.2 Baghedhapalial, No.2 Singia are reeling under flood in Dhakuakhana RC. Flood is seriously affecting five villages under North Lakhimpur RC. They are No. 3 Naali Kaibatra, Ajarguri, Bamungaya, Khaga Chanda Pur, No.1 Hindu Gaon.

On the other hand, 18 villages like Ahomoni, Balijan, Bamungaya, Bharalua, Bishnupur, Boloma, Borgaya Gendhali, Chengelijan, Goshanibari, Mahghuli, No. 2 Borsala, No. 2 Gelahati, No. 1 Borsala., No.1 Gelahati, Pandhowa, Rahali, Ranga Pathar, Rowdong Borpathar are reeling under flood in Naoboicha RC while 2 villages named Hatigarh and Maji Gaon have been affected in Subandiri RC. At present, flood has affected a total of 37,057 people and 686 hectares of crop areas across the district, damaging crops and other infrastructure.
