8 unauthorized brick kilns sealed in Darrang by DC Munindra Nath Ngatey

MANGALDAI: Darrang Deputy Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey taking a stern action on the unauthorized brick kilns of Darrang district has sealed eight brick kilns in Darrang. These sealed brick kiln owners were running their brick kilns without obtaining pollution certificate, No Objection Certificate from district administration, without paying the prescribed forest royalty, without paying royalty to the district administration and even without paying the land revenue. In presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Jonti Deka, Circle officers namely Kamaljeet Sarma of Sipajhar, Nayan Jyoti Pathak of Mangaldai and Dipankar Nath of Patharighat Revenue Circle sealed these brick kilns in their jurisdiction.

The sealed brick kilns are MBI Brick Kiln, STK Brick Kiln, JND Brick Kiln and H A Udyog Brick Kiln of Mangaldai, PNB Brick Kiln, MMB Brick Kiln and Maa Brick Kiln of Sipajhar and PSR Brick Kiln of Patharighat area. Significantly the owner of Maa Brick Kiln was encroaching government land agriculture land without changing its class to industrial class of land.

Talking to ‘The Sentinel’ Deputy Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey on Friday afternoon said that all the erring brick kilns functioning without legal and valid documents would be sealed and the administration will not compromise. Out of the total 42 brick kilns in Darrang district, more defaulting brick kilns are likely to be sealed shortly.
