SIVASAGAR: Finally, the much-awaited High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations began on Tuesday. The designated examination centres were seen crowded with the students along with their parents and guardians. A total of 8,880 students appeared for the HSLC examinations at 29 centres in Sivasagar district, out of which 39 students were of High Madrassa. On the other hand, HS final year examinations will be conducted at 29 centres in Sivasagar district.
All these students were from 27 high schools and 30 higher secondary schools. 30 supervising officers of the Examination Supervisory Committee were overseeing the examination centres. There were 3 urban centres in Sivasagar, where 510 students appeared in Fuleswari Higher Secondary Girls' School, 430 students in Bezbaruah Higher Secondary School and 169 students appeared for the examinations in Thanuram Gogoi Memorial Higher Secondary School.
