8th annual conference of UBPO: Lai khuta erected at Langhin

LAKHIMPUR: Extensive preparations are going on to hold the 8th annual conference of the United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) at Langhin of Karbi Anglong district from February 25 to February 27. As part of such a move, the Lai Khuta was erected at the playground of Pamgaon HS School at Langhin on Sunday.

In a press release issued in this regard, UBPO president Manoranjan Basumatari and assistant general secretary Amit Kumar Basumatari informed that the Lai Khuta was erected by Dr Tuliram Ronghang, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). While speaking on the occasion, the CEM of KAAC assured of extending all necessary help including financial aid to make the programme a grand success. He also appealed to the Bodo frontal organizations and other community organizations irrespective of caste and creed to extend help and active cooperation to make the conference successful.

The reception committee of the event extended thanks to CEM of KAAC, Howraghat MLA Dorsing Ronghang, executive members of KAAC, BKWAC chairman Gambaru Mussahari, BKWAC executive member Anil Basumatari and all the dignitaries, Bodo frontal organization leaders present in the programme. Through the same press release, the central committee of UBPO appealed to all irrespective of caste and creed to participate in all programmes of the event to be held on the designated days.
