Ranendra Bijoy Goswami, our beloved ‘Natu da’, a technologist as well as a senior journalist has left for heavenly abode on June 9. He was born in the year 1962 to Late Suren Goswami, a prominent academician and Late Champa Goswami of Gopinath Bordoloi Nagar Tezpur. ‘Natu da’, one of the grandsons of Late Narendra Nath Goswami, a renowned freedom fighter and Satradhikar of Murari Satra of Bihaguri passed both HSLC and HS (Sc) exam in flying colours and then joined Regional Engineering College (Now NIT), Warangal, Andhra (Now Telengana). He completed his degree in Metallurgical engineering in 1983. Coming back to Assam he served a couple of private production companies as an engineer and then in some private technical educational institutions as a guest faculty. In the mid nineties he started his journalistic career as a freelance reporter in English dailies and news magazines. Since his school days he had a good command in both Mathematics and English for which he was very popular among the students fraternity as a quality private tutor. He was equally popular among the people in his surrounding society, his media fraternity and among family members for his kindhearted nature, simplicity and tension resolving abilities. He was very studious and liked to keep himself updated with all forms of information because of which all the younger members of our family used to be his strong followers. ‘Natu da’, you were our guide, philosopher and source of inspiration and your untimely demise has created an irreparable void in our mind. We would never allow your remembrance to die in us. Today on the day of his Adya shraddha we pray to the Almighty for the eternal peace of your departed soul.
