TEZPUR: The Aadhaar enrollment for students of Sonitpur district was formally inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha at a programme held at the Tezpur Government Boys' HS School, Tezpur on Monday. The programme was attended by Inspector of Schools, Prabhat Das, Principal, Tepzur Government HS School, Thaneswar Deka, president, SMDC, among others.
The Education Department, Sonitpur district has launched the Aadhaar enrollment programme in 10 nodal schools at present under four Education Blocks of the district, with one in Naduar Education Block, and three each in Gabharu, Balipara and Dhekiajuli development blocks. Each nodal school will look after Aadhar enrollment of 2-3 nearby schools as a cluster.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Rohan Jha asked the operators and supervisors to ensure timely and correct enrollment of Aadhaar so that the targets can be met on time. He moreover, informed that each nodal school would take up enrollment of 25-30 students in one batch, with two batches per day, targeting 500 students per day all across the district. The target of 2,32,687 (UDISE 2019-20) is expected to be completed in around two months' time.
District Programme Officer, SSA, Krishna Deka and Ritupaban Rajkhowa have been appointed Nodal Officers for the Aadhaar enrolment programme in Sonitpur district. The government has supplied two numbers of Aadhaar kits against each Education Block and two kits against DI office, Tezpur. Altogether, 20 supervisors/ operators have been selected for the purpose. A technical online training was imparted to these supervisors/ operators on November 6, 2020.
HAILAKANDI: The Aadhaar enrolment drive for students began in Hailakandi district on Monday.
The Aadhaar enrolment for students was launched ceremonially by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education), RK Dam at a programme organised by Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyaan, Hailakandi at the Block Elementary Education Office here.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC, Dam said the State government envisaged the programme to help track school children so that they can avail the benefits under various government schemes. School Inspector, Nazmul Hussain Laskar and other officials were present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that the government has made it mandatory for school children up to Class XII in government or provincialised educational institutions for opening bank accounts. It has earmarked Rs.16.32 lakh for the Aadhaar enrolment exercise in elementary and secondary schools of the state for two months. The programme is being carried out simultaneously in all 33 districts of the state.
Under the enrolment drive, students of Classes I to XII will be covered under the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan. "SSA will carry out the Aadhaar enrolment drive for all school children of all management schools, including private schools in a phased manner. However, the coverage of students will begin from higher classes immediately. Senior secondary and secondary students (Classes IX to XII) will be covered within December itself," a government directive said.
