AAKRYCS demand ST categorization of Koch-Rajbanshi community

BONGAIGAON: "Though the regular functioning of offices throughout India has started with Unlock 2 announced by Prime Minister Modi, yet the ST categorization of Koch-Rajbanshi community has not been processed," said Troloikya Ray and Dharmendra Ray, president and secretary of the All Assam Koch-Rajbanshi Yuba Chatra Sanmilani.

They said that the BJP and its allied parties had several times assured for ST categorization of the Koch-Rajbanshi community but after election they always forget their promise. "We demand the government not to play with our sentiments any more. The government should start the process for ST categorization of our community immediately. Otherwise, we will adopt the path of agitation again. We will decide our further activity on July 8 through video conference meeting of our committee," they added.
