LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Minority Students' Union (AAMSU) paid tribute to deceased Kakopothar journalist, Parag Bhuyan. The activists of the organization organized a special shraddhanjali programme on Friday evening at the public place of Khelmati in association with the North Lakhimpur city committee of the organization.

In the programme, the organization paid deep homage to the deceased journalist by lighting earthen lamps and praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul. The organization also extended sympathy to the bereaved family at his demise. Lakhimpur district AAMSU working president Rafikuddin Ahmed and assistant general secretary Abul Hussain were among those who were present in the programme. On the other hand, the city committee of AAMSU demanded the State Government to take the issue of 'planned murder of the journalist' with utmost importance and seriousness. The dignitaries of the organization demanded the State Government to accelerate the inquiry process into the issue.
