AASU and Asom Jatiyadabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad Staged Demonstration in Dhekiajuli

Dhekiajuli: The Asom Jatiyadabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) and AASU Dhekiajuli unit has demanded that the sacrifices of 13 Dhekiajuli martyrs be recognized by the government along with the immediate execution of Dhekiajuli Sib Division and Sub-Registrar office. To press their demand, the AASU members observed 3 hours sit-in demonstration in front of the AASU Swahid Bedi, Dhekiajuli. The students body started their protest programme at 9.30am on Friday.

President Shankar Das, the secretary, AASU Dhekiajuli unit Pranab Saikia, executive president, Sonitpur district committee of AASU Bhaskar Nath, along with hundreds of AASU supporters took part in the demonstration. In the evening, the AJYCP Dhekiajuli unit members staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the office of the circle officer, Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle where the president Bhagaban Baishya, secretary Dhekiajuli unit of AJYCP Biju Boruah and president AJYCP central body Rana Pratap Boruah, along with hundreds of AJYCP supporters took part in the protest programme and later submitted a memorandum addressed to Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal containing their charter of demands to the circle officer, Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle.
