MANGALDAI: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) deeply mourned the demise of unsung artiste of high repute, Sisir Kumar Suni and shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family members. A team of AASU led by finance secretary Khanindra Kumar Rajbongshi and executive member Niranjan Saikia on Tuesday visited the bereaved family members of the departed octogenarian artiste at village Bengbari in Udalguri district and offered condolence. Offering heartfelt homage on behalf of the AASU, both the office bearers termed the demise of Sisir Kumar Suni as a great loss to the musical world of the State. During their visit, both the AASU office bearers met Sisir Kumar Suni's bereaved wife Alice Suni and his sons Samir Kumar Suni, Pranjal Suni and Ashish Kumar Suni and conveyed the condolence message from the AASU.
Sisir Kumar Suni -an expert in guitar, mandolin, accordion and violin, also composed notation. This gifted talent breathed his last on February 5 at his residence. In the State-level celebration of Bishnu Rabha Divas at Udalguri in 1988, the AASU offered him felicitation in public in presence of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
