DEMOW: At the appeal of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), the Demow Regional Students' Union staged a protest in Demow Chariali on Wednesday in protest against price rise of essential commodities, petrol, diesel, LPG cylinder and power tariff.

The Demow Regional Students' Union activists protested with placards and shouted various slogans against Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass and the Bharatiya Janata Party. They demanded that fuel prices and prices of essential commodities should be reduced. Various leaders like Gautam Borah, president, Plabon Buragohain, secretary of Demow Regional Students' Union, were present in the protest.
