ABMSU demands speedy investigation into Lafiqul Islam murder case

KOKRAJHAR: The All B.T.C. Minority Students' Union (ABMSU) carried out a 7- hour sit-in at Children Park near the DC office, Kokrajhar for seeking speedy investigation into the murder of ABMSU president Lafiqul Islam Ahmed, currently being investigated by CBI.

Lafiqul Islam Ahmed, former president of ABMSU, was brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants on August 1, 2017 at Titaguri in Kokrajhar.

Talking to reporters, ABMSU president Md. Ashraful Islam Sheik and general secretary Taison Hussain strongly condemned the BJP-led State and Central governments and said that a strong agitation would be carried out from Kokrajhar to Dispur and Delhi if the CBI investigation result was not made public. A memorandum seeking speedy investigation into the Lafiqul Islam Ahmed murder case by the CBI was also sent to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar district.
