ABSU, AATS meet TERI officials on clean energy, sustainable development

KOKRAJHAR: The president of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) Dipen Boro and general secretary of All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS) Aditya Khaklary on Wednesday called on the officials of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi and held a special discussion at the Habitat Centre Work on Clean Energy, Carbon Emission and Sustainable Development with Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI; Dr J V Sharma, IFS (retd.), Program Director, Land Resources Division, Dr Amit Thakur, Head, CSR and Dr Dipankar Saharia, Director, Admin Services and Regional Centres.

The student leader also visited TERI Gram to see the facilities related to advanced agriculture technology, nano-technology, green house, rural development, many research based activities etc.

Boro said the TERI had interest to work in BTR and Assam for sustainable livelihood and improvement rural areas for students and farmers. He said that Dr. J V Sharma, IFS, Program Director, Land Resources Division, TERI had visited Manas National Park in BTR recently and studied various aspects of the national park. He also said they would apprise the government of BTR for supporting the TERI to bring awareness among the people on green energy, scientific farming, sustainable development and preservation of nature.
