KOKRAJHAR: A delegation of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) had a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Bodoland University (BU) in presence of the Academic Registrar on Thursday. The meeting was pursued after ABSU served ultimatum on certain issues and a protest was proposed to be held on September 23. However, the University had assured to resolve certain matters through dialogue.

The president of the ABSU, Dipen Boro said that the grade sheets for the 6th semester undergraduate courses of 2020 and 2021 batches had not been issued despite the student body approaching the university authorities several times. The Controller of Examination was summoned and instructed by the VC to complete the issue of grade sheets to the students within the month of September, 2021. Many students were being deprived for getting admission in different universities in the country because they had not got the grade sheets, said Boro. Boro added that the issue of appointment of regular Registrar would also be resolved at the earliest. A condition has been set for recruitment for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor through the discussion - that interview will be allowed but the declaration of the results has to be made only after the appointment of regular Registrar, he said. The delegation team of ABSU was headed by the president of the ABSU, Dipen Boro and accompanied by Kwrwmdao Wary, vice-president; Swmousar Basumatary, education secretary; and other leaders.
